Our Story

LaSalle County Konnections began as a grassroots effort in 2019 to create safer, inclusive spaces for adults engaged in ethical non-monogamy, alternative relationship structures, and consent-centered expressive and power-exchange communities, alongside LGBTQIA+ individuals, in LaSalle County.

From its earliest days, the organization responded to a clear lack of accessible, affirming spaces in rural communities where adults could learn, connect, and access consent-centered education without stigma.

In 2024, LaSalle County Konnections formally incorporated as a nonprofit organization to expand programming, pursue long-term sustainability, and work toward permanent community resources.

While rooted in LaSalle County, Illinois, LaSalle County Konnections now serves a growing Midwest community, with many returning participants traveling from Chicago, Central Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and the St. Louis area.

Community Impact

Since beginning as a grassroots community initiative in 2019, LaSalle County Konnections has engaged approximately 500 unique individuals through events, education, and community programming.

The organization supports a core group of approximately 90–100 recurring participants annually, reflecting sustained community engagement, trust, and ongoing demand for inclusive, affirming spaces.

Participation is tracked through event registrations, donations, and ongoing community engagement.

As programming has expanded, LaSalle County Konnections has welcomed participants traveling from Chicago and Central Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and the St. Louis area, while remaining rooted in LaSalle County.

Community Collaboration & Reinvestment

LaSalle County Konnections actively collaborates with other community organizations and nonprofits by utilizing shared facilities and rented community spaces to host programming. This approach allows LCK to maximize resources, reduce overhead, and strengthen partnerships within LaSalle County.

In alignment with our mission and values, LaSalle County Konnections has also reinvested funds into other local nonprofit organizations, supporting community-led initiatives and reinforcing a culture of mutual support and collaboration.

These partnerships reflect our commitment to responsible stewardship, community cooperation, and strengthening the local nonprofit ecosystem.

As programming and participation continue to grow, a permanent Community Wellness & Education Center would allow LCK to expand access while maintaining the same collaborative, community-centered approach.
