LaSalle County Konnections is committed to providing accessible, consent-centered education that supports safety, communication, mental health awareness, and community well-being—particularly for LGBTQIA+, ethically non-monogamous, and alternative lifestyle communities that are often underserved in rural areas.

Our educational offerings integrate relationship education, harm reduction, and mental health awareness, with a strong emphasis on ethical facilitation and participant safety.

Our programming may include:

• Consent education and communication skills
• Relationship diversity and ethical non-monogamy education
• LGBTQIA+ inclusive community education
• Boundary setting and conflict navigation
• Trauma-informed community care practices
  
  Programs are offered through workshops, facilitated discussions, retreats, and collaborative trainings.

LaSalle County Konnections recognizes that community care includes crisis awareness, prevention, and responsible response. Members of our leadership team, facilitators, and collaborators bring a range of training backgrounds that support safer community programming.

 First Aid & Emergency Preparedness

Members of our team have completed First Aid and emergency response training, supporting situational awareness, basic response readiness, and participant safety during community programming.

First Aid knowledge is used to:

• Support safer event environments
• Respond appropriately to minor incidents
• Identify when professional medical support is needed

Question, Persuade, Refer)

Members of our leadership and facilitation team have completed QPR Suicide Prevention Training, an evidence-based program designed to help individuals recognize warning signs of suicide and respond appropriately.

QPR-trained facilitators are equipped to:

• Recognize signs of emotional distress
• Engage in supportive, nonjudgmental conversation
• Encourage connection to professional mental health resources
  
  
  LaSalle County Konnections does not provide clinical or therapeutic services, but uses QPR-informed practices to support early awareness and appropriate referral within community settings.
  

Training credentials held by staff, volunteers, or collaborators may vary by individual and role.

LaSalle County Konnections:

• Does not represent itself as a medical or mental health provider
• Utilizes training-informed practices to support community safety
• Engages certified professionals or external partners when advanced or clinical services are required
  
  
  Training offerings may be provided directly, through partnerships, or by referral to qualified organizations.
  

When possible, LaSalle County Konnections offers educational and safety-related trainings free or at low cost, with the goal of reducing barriers to access—particularly in rural and underserved communities.

In addition to internal programming, LaSalle County Konnections is available to:

• Partner with nonprofits, community groups, and venues
• Provide consent, relationship, and safety-focused education
• Support inclusive, trauma-informed community development
