ethical Non-monogamy or enm

Ethical non-monogamy (ENM) is a relationship style where partners consent to have romantic and/or sexual relationships with multiple people. It's also known as consensual non-monogamy (CNM).  ENM is considered "ethical" because it involves open communication and consent, which differentiates it from infidelity or cheating. In an ENM relationship, partners may: 

• Identify as a couple but aren't committed to a traditional relationship
• Have multiple relationships simultaneously
• Have the opportunity to date or have sex with other people
• There is no deception about engaging in sex with others

Ethical non-monogamy looks different from one individual to the next, and even from one relationship to another. It all depends on individual preferences as well as what consenting partners have agreed on. We will discuss briefly the different types of ENM and go into more detail about a few.
